Nowadays cellphones have been of great use among us students because they provide much convenience in our daily life. Apart from the basic functions like sending short messages and making phone calls, we can communicate with our friends or share something through various tools online such as QQ, Weixin, etc. We can also purchase nearly whatever we want through many softwares stored in cellphones. Besides, if we book on cellphones in advance, we can enjoy more discounts on meals, taxis, hotels, etc.
Although there are so many advantages, we cannot ignore the problems brought by cellphones. First and foremost is the health problem caused by spending too much time on cellphones. Our eyesight can be lower and lower and the thumb will suffer from frequent use. Even the neck may go wrong as we always lower the head while enjoying the phone. Another huge problem lies in safety. It is reported that many people have unexpectedly lost their lives for the very reason that they focus on their cellphone while walking.
As for in class, I think cellphones should be banned. First, as students we should concentrate our attention on what the teacher says while cellphones often break our concentration by messages or phone calls. Secondly, the teacher will feel frustrated if we often look through our phones in class, which is a sign of irrespect in a way. Lastly, being addicted to the fun functions of cellphones in class will influence our learning process, which will in turn lead to bad results in the exam. Therefore, all in all, I am not in for cellphones in class.
