Eachregister comprises control circuitry for switching a multifunctional counter circuit into aplurality of configurations on a single call for initially scanning stations to detect callservice requests, then counting dialed pulses transmitted from a calling station, andsubsequently scanning stations on a callback operation to identify the calling station.
