摘要：The transducer (1) has a case (2), and an active element (3) that is utilized togenerate and receive ultrasonic waves. A support element (4) is located at a back of the
active element. The support element comprises a front face that is complementary to aback face of the active element. The active element and the support element are coupledthermically. A discontinuous gas layer (5) having an average thickness ranging between0.5 and 50 micrometers is defined to support a thermal coupling between the supportelement and the active element. An independent claim is also included for a method forusing an ultrasonic transducer.
