1. Dacien Temple(大慈恩寺) was built in 648 by the crown prince Li Zhi(李治太子) during Emperor Gaozhong’s reign in the Tang Dynasty(唐高宗) to honor her mother, the Empress Wende(文德皇后).

2. The Temple with 13 yards and 1897 rooms occupied an area of more than 360 mu. At that time, it was the biggest temple in Chang’an(长安), where more than 300 monks lived.
